Food Technology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing and packaging of raw produce or the value added, safe, nutritious and wholesome food fit for distribution and consumption. Food Science is a discipline concerned with all the technical aspects of food, beginning with harvest or slaughtering or milking or catching and ending with its processing and consumption.
The Department Advisory Board is constituted with the aim of keeping the academic programmes aligned with the latest industry requirements and incorporating relevant advancements into the curriculum wherever possible. It reviews and analyses the gaps between the existing curriculum and industry expectations, providing valuable feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement. The Board comprises distinguished academicians from reputed institutions, industry experts from the food sector, researchers from national institutes actively involved in the food research sector, alumni and parent members.
