Musaliar College of Engineering has an active IEEE Student Branch fostering technical excellence, innovation and leadership among budding engineers.

About IEEE SB, MCE

A students' branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) functions at Musaliar College of Engineering with a motto to create awareness among budding engineers on the latest technological innovations. The IEEE SB of MCET was formed on 22nd November, 2012.

Membership Development

The MD session for 2019 was held for first year students of ECE, CSE, EEE and Mechanical departments. Students were introduced to IEEE and the need for a student branch. Guest speaker: Prof. Mohammed Kasim, Chairman, IAS/IES/PELS Joint Chapter, IEEE Kerala Section.

IEEE Activities

  • Non Technical talk on "Email Etiquette" with real-time online examples.
  • Founded the web team at Musaliar College of Engineering in 2013.
  • National level robotics workshop cum competition powered by Robosapiens India and TRYST, IIT Delhi.
  • District level paper presentation on "Grid Connectivity of Renewable Energy Resources" funded by KSEB and IEEE Power and Energy Society.
  • NCIET-13 National Conference on Innovations in Engineering & Technology (May 2013) with 150+ PG participants; inaugural by Deputy Director of ISRO Shri Ratnakar Rao.
  • Open Source Summit 2013 — first Open Source Hardware Summit in Kerala featured in EFY Times.
  • National workshops on Artificial Intelligence Robotics (February 2019), inaugurated by Shri M S Lobo, MD, Sahasra Pvt. Ltd, Thiruvalla.
