Association of Food Scientists & Technologists (India)

The AFSTI student chapter at Musaliar College of Engineering supports students of Food Technology and allied programmes in building professional competence in food science, processing, safety and quality management through seminars, workshops and industry interaction.

Objectives

  • Promote awareness of advances in food science and technology
  • Encourage participation in seminars, workshops and competitions
  • Bridge academia and industry for Food Technology students
  • Support research, innovation and entrepreneurship in food sector

Activities

  • Technical talks and expert sessions on food safety and processing
  • Participation in AFSTI programmes and food-tech exhibitions
  • Industry visits and collaborative events with food sector partners
  • Student-led initiatives on nutrition, hygiene and sustainable food practices
